Hello! My name is Maddie and I’m a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern. I graduated with my master's degree from FSU and am currently pursuing therapeutic licensure. I have experience working in community mental health and grief counseling settings. My goal as a therapist is to encourage growth, foster a safe space, and allow you to express yourself and feel heard. I believe that through a supportive therapeutic relationship, we can foster change slowly overtime. My aim is to help my clients gain acceptance and self-compassion in terms of where they are and what they hope to do.
My approach is based on trauma-informed care, and I work with adults of any age experiencing relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, and grief/loss. I utilize an eclectic approach and draw on Acceptance and Commitment, Psychoanalytic, Person-Centered, and other approaches. I believe each client is different and requires a unique approach catered to their needs. I have experience working with individuals who are in crisis and/or have experienced abuse. I am LGBTQIA+ allied, QTPOC allied, and believe in advocacy and human rights. My priority is to help you feel safe and able to share your story.
